Damaris Peters Pike
Women of Note Actress and Impersonator

Damaris Pike earned her Bachelor of Music Education from Texas Christian University, and her Master of Voice Performance from Kent State University. Professor of Music Emertia at Hiram College, where she founded the Opera Workshop and directed the Hiram College Madrigals and College Choir, she continues to teach two courses each year and to direct the Hiram Women’s Chorus.

The Women of Note programs were launched in 1988 when Mrs. Pike decided to take her knowledge of music history to the public. From her classes at Hiram, she knew that the best way to understand a period in history was to study important characters and their times. Damaris Peters Pike explored women from a 12th century nun to 20th century figures.

Today she will perform Thanks for the Memories: A Visit with Dolores Hope. Hope was the wife of American legend, Bob Hope, and a successful singer in her own right. The presentation includes songs from the first half of the 20th century, as she chats about Bob’s rise from Vaudeville to Hollywood and his amazing contribution to the military.

Mrs. Pike is listed in Who’s Who Among Women and Who’s Who in Entertainment. Her other passions include reading, crossword puzzles, sports, bargain shopping, and spending time on Sanibel Island with her husband, Ken Pike.
